Step 1: Understanding the Car Controls

Before you start driving, familiarize yourself with the basic controls:

1. Essential Pedals & Gear System

🚗 Manual Car:

  • Clutch (Left foot) – Press to change gears.
  • Brake (Middle foot) – Press to slow down or stop.
  • Accelerator (Right foot) – Press to increase speed.

🚙 Automatic Car:

  • Brake (Left side, right foot) – Press to slow down or stop.
  • Accelerator (Right side, right foot) – Press to speed up.

💡 Tip: *Use only your right foot for accelerator & brake in an automatic car.

2. Steering & Dashboard

  • Steering Wheel – Controls the direction of the car.
  • Gear Lever –
    • (P) Park (only in automatic)
    • (D) Drive (automatic cars)
    • (N) Neutral
    • (R) Reverse
    • (1-5) Manual gears
  • Handbrake – Used for parking and emergency stops.
  • Mirrors – Adjust before driving.

Step 2: Starting the Car

🔑 Starting a Manual Car:
1️⃣ Insert the key and turn the ignition.
2️⃣ Press the clutch fully with your left foot.
3️⃣ Move the gear to first gear (1).
4️⃣ Release the handbrake.

🛑 Don't release the clutch too fast, or the car will stall!

4️⃣ Slowly release the brake and press the accelerator gently.

Step 3: Basic Driving

✔ Look around for any obstacles.
✔ Slowly press the accelerator.
✔ Keep a firm but relaxed grip on the steering wheel.
✔ Stay in your lane and maintain a safe speed.

🔄 Turning the Car

✔ Check mirrors and indicators before turning.
✔ Slow down before a turn.
✔ Steer smoothly—don’t jerk the wheel.

🛑 Stopping the Car

✔ Release the accelerator.
✔ Press the brake gently to slow down.
✔ If you have a manual car, press the clutch + brake to stop completely.
✔ Shift the gear to Neutral (N) and apply the handbrake.

Step 4: Parking the Car

Parallel Parking (Between Two Cars)

1️⃣ Find a parking space slightly longer than your car.
2️⃣ Move next to the car in front, about half a meter away.
3️⃣ Turn the steering wheel fully towards the parking space and reverse slowly.
4️⃣ When your car is at 45 degrees, straighten the wheel.
5️⃣ Adjust your position and move forward if necessary.

Reverse Parking (Back into a Spot)

✔ Align your car straight with the parking space.
✔ Reverse while checking the mirrors.
✔ Adjust steering to stay within the lines.
✔ Stop once the car is fully in place.

✔ Follow Traffic Rules (stop signs, speed limits, lane discipline).
